Pierce Parcell

Michael de Mestre is a Director at John de Mestre & Co, bringing over ten years of legal practice primarily focused on strata title and property law. He has a broad range of experience encompassing property transactions, mortgages, leases, mezzanine and bank financing arrangements, commercial agreements, by-laws, and strata law. Michael has played a key role in managing contractual documentation for thousands of off-the-plan units, including developments in Rhodes and Wentworth Point Marinas for the developer Billbergia Pty Ltd. Beyond his legal career, Michael has been actively involved with Hope for Cambodia since 2018, a community-based charity supporting disadvantaged children in Cambodia. Among his contributions, he has helped the charity navigate the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and was instrumental in establishing the country’s first charity baby nursery for working mothers, a project personally meaningful to him as a parent. He also provides ongoing financial support to the charity, including annual donations and funding university scholarships for underprivileged students. Michael balances his professional and community commitments with his family life. He is married to Rachel de Mestre and is the father of two young daughters. As the eldest son of John de Mestre, the firm’s principal, Michael values working within a family business that fosters both professional growth and personal fulfilment.
