Sussan Nguyen

Sussan Nguyen serves as the Principal Solicitor at Hartleys and has dedicated over a decade to practising Family Law. Her career began in government and general practice, providing her with a solid foundation across various legal areas. Within Family Law, Sussan has adeptly handled a wide range of parenting and property matters. She has honed her advocacy skills in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia as well as the Magistrates’ Courts. In 2018, Sussan's commitment to the field was further recognised when she joined Victoria Legal Aid’s Family Law & Family Violence Panel as an Individual Certifier. Her dedication to advancing her expertise continued as she completed Victoria Legal Aid’s Independent Children’s Lawyers training program in 2019. Her leadership capabilities were acknowledged in 2022 when she joined the partnership team at Hartleys. Sussan's academic achievements are notable; in 2024, she completed her Masters of Applied Law (Family Law) and was honoured with the Best Graduating Masters Student Prize, alongside a Certificate of High Achievement for her excellence in Advanced Issues in Property, Maintenance and Child Support. Her professional affiliations include membership with the Law Institute of Victoria, the Western Suburbs Law Association, the Law Council of Australia (Family Law Section), and Victorian Women's Lawyers. Sussan's extensive experience and active involvement in these organisations underscore her dedication to the advancement of Family Law.
