Abhi Sethi

Abhi Sethi is a dedicated solicitor at Justine Fisher Barristers & Solicitors, bringing a blend of passion and comprehensive experience to his role. Since joining the firm in September 2024, Abhi has continued to build on his extensive background in criminal defence. He began his legal career at Gunning Young Barristers & Solicitors as a law clerk in 2020, progressing to a junior solicitor following his admission in 2021. During his tenure there, Abhi honed his skills in criminal law, which has been a key area of interest since his academic pursuits. Abhi's journey in the legal field began with internships in disability discrimination law at a community legal centre and in family law in Perth. These experiences allowed him to understand the practical application of legal principles and refine his client service approach. His academic foundation is robust, with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and a Juris Doctor from the Australian National University, where he graduated with distinction. His education equipped him with a strong legal acumen, complemented by participation in client interview competitions. Besides his legal expertise, Abhi's commitment to community engagement was evident through his roles at Burgmann College, ANU, where he served as a Postgraduate Dean and Community Coordinator. These positions highlighted his leadership and organisational capabilities. Abhi's earlier administrative experience with Law Mantra Lawyers further provided him with valuable insights into law firm operations. In addition to his professional achievements, Abhi is a loyal supporter of West Australian sports and dreams of adopting a German Shepherd puppy, reflecting a well-rounded personal life that's both aspirational and approachable.
