Cordelia Meagle

Kuen Huang is a Solicitor Director with extensive experience in property and commercial law. She was called to the Bar in London in 1985 and practised commercial law overseas before moving to Australia. Admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Courts of New South Wales and Victoria in 1991, Kuen began her Australian legal career in Sydney at one of the country’s leading law firms, working initially in banking before focusing on property law. Kuen’s career includes significant in-house legal experience with a financial institution, where she served as legal adviser and later as corporate head of the legal department. This banking and finance background has greatly enhanced her capacity to handle complex transactions. She further developed her expertise at a prominent Sydney property law firm before co-founding Aequitas Attorneys in 1998. She now leads Aequitas Lawyers as principal. Kuen is well-regarded for her work in major commercial and retail property acquisitions and sales, business and company transactions, and retail and commercial leasing, including representation of shopping centre owners. She regularly acts for property developers in conveyancing residential, commercial, and retail properties, and provides advice to Owners Corporations. Her practice also covers preparing loan, security, and ancillary documents for a variety of finance facilities such as construction, residential, and commercial loans. Kuen advises banks, financial institutions, and credit providers on compliance with legislation including the Corporations Act, Real Property Act, and Duties Act. Kuen has experience in enforcing securities for mortgagees, including court proceedings for possession, and appointments of receivers and managers under general security deeds. She also handles probate and administers deceased estates through Letters of Administration.
