Hamish Carlyle is a founding Partner of Rostron Carlyle Lawyers and plays a key role in shaping the firm’s group practice areas and client service standards. He is an active participant in the Brisbane business community and leads the Compensation practice group, drawing on his extensive experience in a broad range of litigious matters. Hamish advises high net worth individuals on a variety of legal issues and provides guidance on corporate structuring and restructuring. He negotiates complex commercial transactions and represents several leading Queensland hoteliers in numerous transactional and related matters. His expertise includes negotiating group-wide representation policies and overseeing complex litigation files. His practice also includes managing significant criminal defence cases, acting for property developers in acquiring and selling development properties, including off-the-plan sales, and representing landlords and tenants of retail shopping and commercial centres. Hamish acts for clients in business purchase and sale transactions, as well as franchisors and franchisees in franchise establishment. Additionally, he provides legal advice to not-for-profit organisations and has negotiated a group industry-wide criminal law representation service for the security industry, which is integrated into multiple workplace agreements across South East Queensland.
