Mathew Nott

Mathew Nott serves as General Counsel at Goldman Lawyers, where he has contributed his extensive legal knowledge since joining the firm in 2020. Admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2017, Mathew brings a broad skill set across criminal and commercial law, as well as estates and trusts. His professional practice also encompasses property law, medical disputes, and family law, enabling him to provide comprehensive legal support tailored to each client’s unique circumstances. Mathew’s background prior to law includes significant experience as a journalist and editor, and over ten years as a senior public health executive in New South Wales and Queensland. These roles enhanced his analytical abilities, communication skills, and understanding of complex organisational environments, all of which inform his approach to legal practice. Mathew is recognised for his capacity to articulate complex legal issues clearly and to maintain a client-centred focus throughout all stages of representation. Holding a Diploma of Law (LPAB), a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Journalism), and a Certificate of Business Skills from the College of Law Sydney, Mathew integrates academic achievement with practical experience.
