Jessica Rippon

Jessica Rippon is the Principal Solicitor and Founding Director at Construction Legal, bringing over 20 years of experience in building and construction law. Her practice encompasses a broad range of commercial law areas, including property and construction law, construction finance, work health and safety, and industrial relations. Jessica’s comprehensive knowledge spans the entire project lifecycle—from initial contract negotiations through to claims and dispute resolution. Throughout her career, Jessica has represented a diverse client base, including prominent private sector and government organisations such as CBP, John Holland, Deicorp Constructions, Martinus, NBN Co, Downer EDI, New World Engineering & Construction, Woolworths, and the City of Parramatta Council. Her non-contentious work includes drafting, negotiating, and advising on design and construct contracts for residential and commercial developments, major infrastructure projects, rolling stock, tunnels, and gas power stations. Jessica also draws on her extensive experience in contract administration, assisting clients with managing claims and notices on large public-private partnership projects, drafting correspondence on variations, delays, and disruption issues, and providing advice on security, insurance, and liability concerns. On the contentious side, Jessica has conducted litigation proceedings, expert determinations, and mediations, as well as managing numerous applications and defences under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999. Known for her strategic approach, Jessica is committed to developing legal solutions that align with and support her clients’ commercial objectives. Jessica is fluent in Hindi and Gujarati and is an active member of several professional organisations, including the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the NSW Law Society, the Society of Construction Law, the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Committee, the Australia India Business Council, and the Chinese Building Association of NSW.
