Ben Farmer

Ben Farmer is a Director at Clelands Lawyers Adelaide, bringing 30 years of experience as a solicitor. Since joining Clelands in 1997, following earlier roles in Darwin and Perth, Ben has focused his practice exclusively on Family Law and Employment Law. He has held the position of Director since 2002. Ben’s approach to financial matters in family law is both commercial and practical, ensuring his clients receive advice grounded in real-world considerations. He is also known for his empathy when guiding clients through sensitive parenting disputes. His expertise includes drafting and advising on pre-nuptial agreements, resolving matrimonial property settlement disputes that often involve complex commercial and corporate structures, addressing de facto and same-sex relationship matters, and managing complex custody disputes. Beyond his work at Clelands, Ben has a long-standing commitment to pro bono service. He has volunteered at the Roma Mitchell Community Legal Centre for over 20 years and previously contributed five years of service at the Law Society Free Advice Service, regularly providing free legal advice to members of the public. Additionally, Ben shares his knowledge by guest lecturing at Flinders University Law School and mentoring final-year law students, supporting their transition into legal practice by answering questions and providing guidance based on his extensive professional experience.
